Barbour County Businesses Continue to Expand Collaborations

Despite everyone’s busy December schedule, a wonderfully diverse cross section of businesses and organizations attended the December Small Business Solutions meeting in Barbour County.

As always, the relaxed, informal meeting was a true collaboration. In addition to multiple local established and aspiring small business owners, there were representatives from the medical, financial, legal, non-profit and faith communities, city and county administrations, the Chamber of Commerce, Philippi Convention & Visitors Bureau, Philippi Main Street, and the Belington Revitalization Committee. We were especially excited to welcome for the first time a representative from the Amish community, who said he found the networking and brainstorming sessions to be truly helpful in paving the way for his community to engage more successfully with Barbour County as a whole.

The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, the Development Authority, and Woodlands Development and Lending are excited to continue to sponsor these networking meetings in 2023. To quote today’s Barbour Democrat, “Members of the community, business owners, church leaders, and various organizations are invited to attend. The meetings…are not limited only to members or beneficiaries of these groups, but to anyone interested in helping improve the county as well as anyone interested in promoting or expanding their business.”

Please mark your calendar and plan to join us for the next meeting of Small Business Solutions for Barbour County which will be held at 5:30pm on Monday, January 9th, 2023 at the Medallion Restaurant, 12 S. Main St., Philippi, WV 26416. Please note that the restaurant will be closed at that time and the meeting will be held in the adjacent meeting room.

Have a wonderful Christmas, a happy & safe New Year, and we’ll see you on January 9th!
