Nestled in a small valley in the mountains in West Virginia, the City of Elkins is home to a newly remodeled historic Tygart Hotel. Rehabilitated and owned by Woodlands Development & Lending, a local non-profit, this unique project has inspired unexpected and deep connections between residents and the surrounding Monongahela National Forest.

There’s a story to tell here. A story of how humans came to this wild place, why we built this grand hotel, and how the communities, the rugged mountains, natural resources, and infrastructure continue to evolve.

This is a story of how we all connect, in an unbroken chain, to all that came before and all that are coming still.

This is our story. And now, it is yours too.

Please consider a donation to the Tygart Community Investment Fund, so that we can continue to tell this ever-evolving story.
