Guilty Pleasures Sweet Shop Opening Store in Belington’s Golden Rule
Sandra Lucas and Michelle Ludwig, owners and operators of the popular Guilty Pleasures Sweet Shop in downtown Elkins, announced last week that they are opening a second store in the Golden Rule Building in Belington.
“We couldn’t think a better way to celebrate our two year anniversary other than by opening up a second location at the Golden Rule,” Sandra said during the live online announcement. “Every time we have come here for any sort of event you always were so welcoming, so we figured why not come here permanently?”
You will be able to order to-go, come sit inside and use the wi-fi, or enjoy the railyard and river at an outside table on the back porch. Guilty Pleasures has not announced an opening date yet but they are shooting for mid May or the beginning of June. Follow Guilty Pleasures Sweet Shop on Instagram or Facebook to get the latest news about the new Belington location.
Development of the café and bakery space in the Golden Rule was made possible by local support from the Barbour County Commission, the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area (AFNHA), the Belington Revitalization Committee, Woodlands Development and Lending, and a USDA Rural Development Rural Business Development Grant.
