Train Rides Board Once Again at Historic Golden Rule Building

The DGVRR train engine is parked in front of the loading platform behind the Golden Rule Building in Belington, WVThe Belington Revitalization Committee is very excited to be able to offer the first two train rides leaving from the Golden Rule in the 21st Century.

With the long-awaited and hard-fought-for rehabilitation of the building complete and the worst of the COVID pandemic in our rear view mirror, the community is coming together for a weekend-long celebration that includes music, games, vendors, and two train rides celebrating Belington and the natural beauty around our town and along the Tygart Valley River. See the embedded flyer below for more information about the Old Fashioned Days Festival.

Tickets are available now and until sold out for the two train rides and cost $35 (adult), $25 (kids age 4-11), with specials for seniors and veterans. Please visit mountainrailwv.com for details and booking or you may call 304.636.9477 to book on the phone. Both trips will depart from the platform at the Golden Rule at 6pm on August 12th and 13th.

The Golden Rule will be open for tours, and food and snacks will be available before boarding. Additionally on Saturday, the Building will be full of local craft vendors and there will be demonstrations of the famous water-powered elevator earlier in the day.

All proceeds from ticket sales will support the Belington Revitalization Committee who has spearheaded the Golden Rule Rehabilitation and continues to support initiatives to incubate small businesses in the first floor commercial space.
